New York Jets Breece Hall impresses in return from major leg injury in NFL Week 1 versus the Buffalo Bills
Has Breece Hall recovered from tearing his ACL in the 2002 season?
Based on how he performed on Monday Night Football in Week 1, it seems he is healthy enough to make impact plays again.
On the offense’s first play from scrimmage in the first quarter, he ran 26 yards all the way to the Jets 38 yard line. In the second quarter from the Jets 4 yard line, he ran 83 yards until he got tackled inside the Bills 15 yard line. In the third quarter, he caught a short pass from quarterback Zach Wilson and ran up the field 20 yards to the Bills 35 yard line. As the third quarter was winding down, Breece gained 9 yards on 2nd and 10.
By the end of the game, Hall had 10 carries for 127 rushing yards and 1 catch for 20 yards. He still has the vision to see the holes in the running lanes, which allowed him to make the long plays that got Gang Green into scoring position. If he had not been recovering from the ACL injury, he may have scored touchdowns on those runs. It will probably take about 3 more weeks before his legs get into game shape. But the Jets running back still has his vision and acceleration that made him a threat in the 2002 season. All signs point to Breece making impact plays and having a Pro Bowl this NFL season once he is fully healthy.
