New York Jets Garrett Wilson scores a touchdown in the win over the Buffalo Bills in NFL Week 1

Garrett Wilson continued where he left off in the 2022 NFL season. After he won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year with 83 receptions for 1,103 yards and 4 touchdowns last year, he showcased his talents on Monday Night Football against Buffalo.

In the 4th quarter with 5 minutes remaining on 2nd and goal, quarterback Zach Wilson threw a quick pass to Garrett with Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White defending him. With the football thrown behind him, the Jets receiver used his right hand to tip the ball to himself. As he fell into the endzone, he caught the ball with both of his hands to score the TD, which tied the game at 13. Gang Green would go on to play in overtime and win the game 22-16 as Jets rookie Xavier Gipson returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown.

Garrett Wilson displayed his skills on the game tying touchdown. He used his acceleration to get into the endzone against the Bills defensive back. He had the awareness to see that the ball was thrown behind him and he quickly reacted to catch the ball as he fell to the floor. He makes impact plays and is on his way to having a Pro Bowl season.
