Bryce Playing “Petty” Games
The New York Jets have quarterback issues if Bryce Petty is playing video games. Instead of devoting his full attention to studying real NFL defenses on film, he’s trying to decipher vanilla defenses on Madden, which any 10 year old can do.

No matter how “Madden has come a long way in terms of mirroring the NFL experience”, his eyes have still not gotten used to the speed of the NFL. No video game can simulate the number of times that Petty will be hit, sacked, stripped or thrown to the ground. Defensive coordinators will also figure out his tendencies and adjust the game plan after the 2nd quarter, which the Madden AI won’t be able to do. Instead of handling the game console controller with his hands, he should be snapping the ball under center in real live action.
Another issue with this quarterback playing video games, is that Petty is not seeing the big picture. Right now this football team has no valid starting quarterback with experience. The NY Jets are playing a game of chicken with free agent Ryan Fitzpatrick, not wanting to give him the money he deserves to come back to the team as they are trying to resign him according to their terms. The other quarterback on their roster, Geno Smith … well, you know what he is. A guy with a big arm who keeps on throwing multiple interceptions per game to the opposing team, can’t read defenses and throws punches to his own teammates ( ie. defensive end IK Enemkpali ).
The Jets just drafted a rookie QB in the draft, Christian Hackenberg (although who knows why ), a project in the making. If Bryce could see the writing on the wall, this roster spot is his for the taking. Since he didn’t even play a down in his rookie season last year, he should be improving his football IQ with REAL film study and not with child’s play. Seeing him twiddle his thumbs with those controllers really makes you think if the screws are loose in his head, if his heart is in the game and if he is the right leader to head the New York Jets to the Super Bowl. What a knucklehead!
