Hallelujah! The Jets’ prayers have been answered. For being involved in Patriots employees deflating footballs before the Colts playoff game in 2015 ( Deflate Gate ), Brady will miss the 1st four games of the upcoming season. Even though he can still file an appeal with the Supreme Court, it’s highly unlikely that they will hear his case, as reported by an expert in law, the director of the Tulane Sports Law Program. Not being the quarterback of the New England Patriots for 4 weeks means that Jimmy Garoppolo will take over the snaps for the team. With 2 primetime games against the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans and 2 games versus the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills, Garoppolo will be put to the test since he has no NFL experience.
This situation will benefit the NYJ immensely. With Tom under center, the Patriots would win at least 10 games year in, year out. Now the Jets have a more competitive chance to battle for the AFC East division as New England is losing matches with Jimmy. It also helps that the teams he will face are not only playoff contenders in the NFL but that the Cardinals, Texans, Dolphins and Bills have the stiffest defenses in the league. The Patriots will not only have to struggle to win the division versus the Jets but also fight for a playoff spot in the AFC against teams like the Steelers, Raiders, Ravens and Colts.
What else could Gang Green ask for? Their rival archnemesis Brady will serve time and the backup who will replace him hasn’t played a meaningful snap in years. Add in a tough schedule to deal with in September and New England is ripe for the picking. About all that would be left is if the NFL also suspends Bill Belichick for being aware of Deflate Gate and that would make the Jets day. But that will be just asking for a miracle.

Apparently Jet fans and many sports writers are not too swift. Two of their division opponents only have to face Brady once which is clearly an advantage for them. How are they going to feel if they go 0 and 2 and either the Bills and Dolphins go 1 and 1 against the Pats and they get beat out for the division or a wild card spot?
