Arizona Cardinals vs New York Jets: Time, TV, how to watch Monday Night Football live | OregonLive.com The Cardinals are trying to keep up with Seattle and Los Angeles in the NFC West and the Jets are trying to snap a three-game losing streak.

After losing to the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers, the New York Jets are in a must win game in Week 6 in order to save their 2016 NFL season. This Monday Night Football game will depend on 1 factor.

Todd Bowles

“He’s like my uncle, my big brother.’’

Todd Bowles has a relationship with Bruce Arians of the Arizona Cardinals that goes back decades. When Bowles was a football player at Temple, Arians was his head coach. Later Todd was his defensive coordinator from 2013 to 2014 for the Cardinals when Bruce was the head coach of Arizona.

On Monday Night, both of these men will be at a crossroads. Gang Green stands at 1-4 while the Cardinals are 2-3. Blitzing defenses. Run game. Spread offenses. These 2 NFL teams are similar to each other across the board. This will come down to who can better manage his group of players. Arians has been coaching Arizona since 2013 while Bowles is just entering his 2nd season with New York. Bruce has seen more game situations in his 3 years as head coach more than Bowles has with his current team.

Todd’s lack of experience was evident when he had to make a decision against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5. Down 2 scores late in the 4th quarter, instead of going for it on 4th down and 2, he decided to punt the ball back to Ben Roethlisberger, hoping that Mohammad Wilkerson and his defense would stop them and get the football back. Big Ben then went on a 5:38 minute, 11 play drive for 74 yards to the Jets 5 yard line, ending with the Sammy Coates TD. On a Sunday when the Jets had not been able to get pressure on Pittsburgh all day, the lack of pass rush continued on that final Steelers drive. The failure of Bowles to recognize what was going on during the game was the reason why the Jets couldn’t get possession back and lost the game.

Gang Green has been within a TD in the 4th quarter when they played against the Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks. If this Monday Night Football game is close between these 2 teams desperate for a win, it will come down to Todd Bowles making a critical decision. History shows that Bruce Arians has the upper hand over the student by far.
